This is what happens when a family of seven lives the life to which they have been called: the good, the bad and the "that's not going on the blog."

The Driver, in an unrelated photo
This is posted from the laptop. Success! Now, I need to quit, and start seeing how few clothes my children have that are trip-worthy.

Is this one of those rent a driver guys that you meet over the internet ? We need some help on a similar trip - that's why I ask. Did you do a background check on the driver ? How safe is it to travel with 5 children - these are just questions for research?
I would refrain from such a mission, unless said driver had some survival training.... or at least some engineering background.... if the latter .... a background check is definetly in order. Does said driver have any previous long range trip experience?
Travel Tip : The family trip experience(with children),will usually end in agony... if the driver does not utilize Motel/Hotel's with indoor pools.
Yes, as you know, I did meet the driver on the Internet. He has much more long-range driving experience than me, but we both come from good a-vacation-doesn't-happen-in-a-plane stock. His engineering background comes in handy when I (the illustrious communicator) say..."ummm, do you hear that weird noise? Something's wrong with the car." Then he says, "That's the ___________." And then he ignores it and keeps driving. This actually saves us quite a bit of downtime.
Yes, ingoring the wierd noises is a great faith builder, and is much cheaper than strict PM program... By your comments I feel you have the right driver for the job!
